Background Patching is coming to Riot Client

Background patching allows the Riot Client to download and install patches for all games, so long as the Riot Client is open. All that being said, part of the patching process for those games does happen in the Riot Client and that part will be supported by background patching, meaning players can look forward to a quicker patching process across all games. In the meantime, we are working hard to unlock full background patching for League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics as soon as possible. Players who have the Riot Client beta will have this functionality today with a full launch scheduled next month.
