Team Lead - Games Studio

Summary

As a Games Studio Team Lead you are accountable for the timely delivery of market leading games. Your areas of concern are developing high quality games, iterating on process improvements and dedicated software delivery. Ensuring that the team has a healthy and collaborative atmosphere that allows its members to perform their duties and grow their skills to the best of their abilities. Leading by example by adhering to the company 'Rhythm' values. Hands on with all aspects of the development process by contributing to game concepts, coding, quality assurance, software reviews and making and facilitating technical decisions. You will be responsible for managing and recruiting multiple disciplines within your team, so should have a good understanding of the workflow and processes associated with these roles and how they fit into an agile cross- functional environment.

What You'll Do
  • Owning the Game Delivery Life Cycle from conception through to release for your studio
  • Motivate and coach a cross functional game studio consisting of Front-End Game Developers and QA engineers.
  • Improve efficiency and processes of the team
  • Be hands on within their domain - either developing or testing software
  • Be a quality Catalyst, identify the gaps and strengthen the processes for all deliverables from RGS organization.
  • Works within business unit to build and maintain schedules, considering dependencies across application, platform, Integration, Quality and development teams to ensure successful product release.
  • Efficient resource planning and scheduling by managing priorities based on the timelines, resource loads and what-if analysis information for the successful completion of specific project goals and objective.

  • Commercial experience in the gambling or gaming industry
  • A trustworthy lead who is able to guide, develop and motivate their team
  • Using agile methodologies to evolve production efficiencies
  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver quality products on time and budget
  • A pragmatic thinker who considers risk and best value to the business and end user
  • An excellent communicator who highlights risks to stakeholders, and responds to concerns as they arise rather than allowing potential problems to manifest
  • A highly organised individu al that has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities
  • A background in client or games development, using Javascript, AS3 or other web languages
  • Extensive knowledge of OOP, design patterns and driving development best practice
  • Clear understanding of source control management, preferably GIT Required
  • Extensive knowledge of QA best practices and industry standards
  • Strong knowledge of test case management and bug tracking tools
