SUMMARY
Gunzilla Games is looking for a Senior Weapon Concept Artist artist who will
create a wide range of exciting and highly compelling weapon illustrations for
our unique AAA game. The ideal candidate has experience with the full range of
concept art including quick sketches, orthographic views, storyboards, mood
concepts, and ‘paint-overs' of block geometry from the game.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Weapon Concept Artist, you will:
Create a wide variety of high-quality weapon concepts that define the
visual style of the game
Deliver highly polished concept paintings for production and marketing in
a timely manner
Rough out level layouts by blocking them out in 3D (using Sketchup, Modo,
or other software)
Create reference packages and callout sheets for production art
Collaborate with other artists in defining the artistic style of the
project
Coordinate with Art Director, Artists, and Production to accomplish the
goals of the Concept Art team
Paint over screenshots of rough game geo that incorporate design,
materials, lighting, atmosphere, and effects
Visually break down prop designs, including showing destroyed states,
animated parts, and effects
REQUIREMENTS
At least 4+ year of working professionally as a concept/illustrator artist
Must have worked on 1+ shipped games
Highly proficient skills using 2D Illustration packages (Photoshop,
Illustrator etc.)
Expert knowledge and command of traditional art techniques: drawing,
painting, color theory, proportion, anatomy, perspective, and composition
Strong knowledge of mechanical and vehicle design
Ability to visually communicate abstract ideas to the Art, Design, and
Engineering teams
Provide a diverse portfolio of your concept/illustration work
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
BA, BFA, or equivalent professional certification from a credited
institution
