THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Senior Tools Engineer who is passionate about strong,
healthy and collaborative teams that support each other to create the best
game experiences. You will partner with experts in engineering, design and
test to understand workflows and pipelines and build tools that can extend
Unreal Functionality, support automation and help scale our game's
development. You will work closely with the teams you serve to create a vision
and plan for tools that improve the day to day work of content and engineering
teams.

You enjoy the challenge of trying to identify the needs of others and
translate a solution for those needs into a piece of software
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Your teammates are your customers. You will develop the products and
functionality that they need to help them build, debug, and analyze a live
service game.
You will build tools and extensions for Unreal Engine. You will build
integrations with test frameworks. You will build custom command line
programs. You will touch and learn many different areas of the code base,
and improve efficiency across the studio.
You will work with technical artists, designers, and content developers to
help identify gaps in workflows and pipelines. You will help build out
plans and find solutions to automate their manual tasks.
You will work with the QA team to implement the cheat codes and Blueprints
hooks that will allow them to quickly dig into their questions and write
automated test suites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You have a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
You have 4-5 years of experience
You are proficient with and enjoying working primarily in C++
You have experience building GUI-based tools/products
You write and believe in the importance of unit tests
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with Unreal Engine (and Blueprints)
Experience building games in a cross-discipline team environment
Experience running a live service
Proficiency with (or willingness to learn) one or all of C#, Python,
and/or JavaScript (read: TypeScript)
Knowledge of and respect for Object-Oriented design patterns
Knowledge of and respect for functional programming concepts

Compensation:
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
The full salary range for this position is $147,800 - $221,700 per year.
The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for existing
employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. When an offer is
made, many factors are considered, such as your unique experience and
skills, where you live, where the work will be performed, what similar
jobs pay, internal equity, and what you're looking for.
In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for
additional incentives, such as a sign-on bonus and short- and long-term
incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
