About the Role

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Systems Engineer who builds and maintains our AWS infrastructure, Tableau deployment, and Operations. You are an empathetic, compassionate leader that will work to grow your team and domain of expertise at Twitch. You have a solid technical AWS infrastructure experience while staying ahead of technology trends. You will report to the Sr Manager, Enterprise Systems Engineering.

You Will:
  • Build scalable and resilient solutions on AWS using CDK to support internal systems
  • Evaluate the feasibility of migrating existing Terraform codebase to CDK, and implement the migration process
  • Collaborate with teams to understand requirements, identify technical constraints, and recommend solutions that balance performance, cost, and security
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and industry standards in areas such as availability, scalability, monitoring, and disaster recovery
  • Evaluate and optimize system performance, security, and cost-effectiveness by using AWS services, third-party tools, and automation
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure high availability and prompt incident response
  • You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years supporting business-critical applications in cloud infrastructure engineering teams
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CDK, along with scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell
  • Demonstrated expertise in configuration management tools such as Ansible and Chef
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Route 53, Lambda, RDS, and others
  • Proficiency in communicating complex technical information and coordination among teams
