As a Senior Test Manager, you will establish and oversee long-term preventative-care QA strategies by collaborating with cross-discipline leadership throughout all phases of development. You will be responsible for navigating both your QA team and your cross-discipline leadership team towards team-owned quality in your area. You will work across disciplines to create and upkeep best practices and KPIs for measuring and guiding organizational and project health. You will partner with cross-discipline leadership to evolve development pipelines towards healthy preventative workflows, collect and leverage data sets to pursue business goals, partner with SDETs and Engineering to leverage shift-left automation, and sustainably ship and support live service content and code to external and internal customers.

Senior Test Manager roles include management and leadership of various QA staffing strategies including internal QA FTEs, ex-dev and co-dev partners, and outsourced test coverage. You will need to thoughtfully delegate large deliverables to your QA team in order to focus your time on creating systemic cultures of quality across all disciplines in your area.

Central Tech

The Central Tech branch of Bungie is responsible for the complex suite of engines, platforms, and services that fuel Bungie's existing and upcoming amazing games with a focus on delivering an exceptional player experience. In a Central Tech role, you will:

Coordinate with multiple Central Tech and game stakeholders to gather business requirements, build relationships, and gain alignment

Craft an in-depth understanding of our centralized tools, features, and production pipelines to create preventative quality strategies and risk- mitigation plans

Cultivate a culture of ongoing improvement within our continuous integration and development pipelines to ensure their efficiency and effectiveness

Oversee the development of multi-year automation strategies in collaboration with Engineers and SDETs

Harness real-time player data and service insights to guide your area towards team-owned quality

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategy

  • Work with QA Leadership to help design, prioritize, and execute the plan for building our quality assurance team for sustainable and efficient game development
  • Build test and staffing strategies that align with your incubation project's team's business goals and scale effectively into post-launch
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance standards and practices attuned to the needs of the business (engineered approach, automation, data validation, value-based testing)
  • Track and utilize data to inform both our short- and long-term test strategies
  • Create a holistic test strategies for your area that takes into account our co-dev and automation processes and goals
  • Works with cross disciplines peers to develop team wide processes that support healthy, sustainable, and transparent development
  • Management

  • Actively manage and mentor your area's Senior QA Leads and their reports via regular 1:1s, goal setting, and growth planning
  • Equip reports and managers in your org with the tools and training for supporting healthy and effective teams
  • Develop a comprehensive succession plan for all areas within your org
  • Contribute to the refinement of our hiring process with the goal of increasing our skillset and diversity
  • Understand and track organizational health risks in your areas and build strategies for solving them
  • Craft

  • Work with QA Leadership and other Senior Test Managers to define and push craft excellence within the test org
  • Establish working processes for the test org that support our goals of sustainable, efficient, and transparent testing
  • Develop training initiatives and mentorships that grow capabilities across the team
  • Partner with our SDET team to build tools and automation strategies that make us a more effective test team
  • Coordinate with cross-discipline peers to ensure our processes are collaborative and well integrated
  • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong desire to grow yourself and your teams while constantly evolving your approach and processes
  • Proven ability to guide the test efforts of multiple areas across multiple releases from concept to post-launch of a release
  • Experience identifying and implementing teamwide processes and technology/tools that make development more efficient
  • Experience directly managing multiple Senior Test Leads and managing test orgs of 20+ FTE testers
  • Exemplary communication skills, outstanding analytical skills, and high attention to detail
  • Passion for gathering and utilizing data to better inform our test and closing strategies
  • Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

    This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

    Bellevue Pay Range

    $143,000—$170,000 USD

    Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked
  • Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
