Bungie is seeking a Product Manager (Senior to Principal) to join its Competitive Intelligence team.

The Competitive Intelligence team here at Bungie is responsible for delivering timely information, data, and insights on industry news, trends, and competitors to promote better business decision-making within the studio.

As one of the leaders for the team, you will help grow and evangelize the use of data, research, and industry best practices to develop actionable insights that can inform product strategy and development. The ideal candidate is a gaming industry expert, can adapt in a rapidly changing fast-paced environment, has experience uncovering and synthesizing competitive insights, and should have exceptional communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide subject matter expertise in analyzing competitive intelligence data and presenting findings in clear, concise presentations
  • Partner with game team leadership, publishing leadership, and other Product Managers to identify problem spaces, develop analysis plans, and to provide actionable recommendations or takeaways.
  • Track and analyze performance and live operations of competitor games, delivering monthly reports to provide key insights and takeaways to key stakeholders
  • Create longer-form write-ups or presentations of specific games that include a breakdown of important game systems features, and game performance analysis
  • Monitor the larger game industry to identify trends and understand new strategies and tactics, delivering timely insights to our leadership teams
  • Present findings to stakeholders and senior leadership at the company
  • Act as a point of contact for external third-party data and research providers and help assess and vet new ones
  • Principal will manage and mentor the Competitive Intelligence team which includes defining structure, prioritization, and long-term vision of the team.
  • Principal will manage the Competitive Intelligence budget, manage contracts and relationships with third parties, and own requirements for external research projects.
  • Principal will work cross functionally with multiple teams (i.e., Research, Analytics, Publishing, Product, etc.) to define both long-term and emergent competitive intelligence project needs
  • Principal will partner with Bungie's Insights Leadership Team to promote cross-department collaboration and insights driven decision making at Bungie
  • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience working in the games industry with a deep passion for games
  • Ability to understand and deconstruct competitor products or features
  • Broad understanding of monetization and engagement strategies that exist in the video games market
  • Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate, articulate, and present to senior leadership across a variety of disciplines
  • Ability to source and leverage 3rd party data, tear down financial statements, and utilize hands-on experience to breakdown competitive products or companies and consolidate insights into clear takeaways
  • Business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities, using data to inform strategic and business decisions
  • Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve. Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, with little direction on day-to-day work and general direction on new assignments
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree a plus
  • Principal will have experience managing a small team of high performing individual contributors
  • Principal will have 5+ years working in competitive intelligence or market research and 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Analytics or Research experience
  • Familiarity with SQL or Python
  • Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

    This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

    Bellevue Pay Range

    $148,000—$202,000 USD

    Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked
  • Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
