Principal Systems Engineer US - Remote

ProbablyMonsters is looking for a friendly & curious Principal Systems Engineer that wants to help create a new competitive shooter.

You will join a team that believes:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for driving collaboration between engineers, artists, and designers to implement core systems and workflows for our title.

    Location(s) and Travel

    Our team is excited to welcome new remote team members, with expected online collaboration hours from 10am – 4pm PST. Our goal is to grow a healthy team where we value our time together, so travel to our in-person collaborative sessions can be expected, but not limited to, once a quarter.

    This role is available in all US states expect NY, DE, HI

  • WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Propose and review architecture and other systems designs to ensure good engineering practices, high performance, and high maintainability.
  • Lead discussions around the identification and anticipation of technical issues, edge cases and performance-related aspects (and work to provide knowledge and tools to measure those aspects).
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Unreal Engine technology and provide support and guidance to other engineers.
  • Debug functional and performance issues on multiple platforms.
  • Foster a creative and inclusive environment that champions collaboration and growth across all crafts.
  • Drive knowledge-sharing sessions that help the team understand and work with the tech more efficiently.
  • Balance creativity and time management to deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding in engineering principles, practices, and Unreal platform functionality.
  • Experience working in software development on modern platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, PC, etc.)
  • Experience in mentoring other engineers and providing insightful feedback on engineering efforts.
  • Requires very extensive and comprehensive industry experience or equivalent.

    Compensation:

  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
  • The full salary range for this position is $197,200 - $305,600 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. When an offer is made, many factors are considered, such as your unique experience and skills, where you live, where the work will be performed, what similar jobs pay, internal equity, and what you're looking for.
  • In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as a sign-on bonus and short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
