Project Victoria is a yet unannounced AAA action-adventure game developed
by our North American team supported by PCF's European studios.
Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Online Designer to work on a
brand new AAA multiplayer IP. In this role, you will be responsible for
designing and implementing key online features and experiences for our game,
as well as developing and maintaining our game as a service strategy.
Responsibilities will include:
Work closely with game design, production, and engineering teams to ensure
that all online features are designed and implemented to a high standard,
and are consistent with the overall vision and goals of the game.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the current and evolving
market trends, player behaviors, and player needs in the games as a
service industry.
Design and implement key online features, systems, and experiences that
promote player engagement, retention, and monetization. Including social
features, matchmaking, leaderboards, rewards, and other community-driven
features.
Collaborate with the game design team to ensure that all online features
are integrated seamlessly with the overall experience, and that they are
well balanced and fair for all players.
Conduct regular playtests and user research to gather feedback on the
online features, and use this feedback to continuously improve and refine
the player experience.
Work closely with the data analytics team to analyze player behavior and
engagement metrics, and use this data to inform design decisions and drive
continuous improvement of the online features and overall game as a
service strategy.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for the ongoing development
and evolution of the online features, taking into account the needs of the
player community and the overall business goals of the game.
Qualifications
At least 7+ years of experience of designing and implementing successful
online features and experiences for GaaS online games, specifically PC and
consoles.
Deep knowledge and understanding of the games as a service industry,
including current trends, best practices, and player behaviors.
Understanding of modern MTX practices and strategies. Ability to design
and implement MTX for a new GaaS product from scratch.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work
effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience using player
data to inform design decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Unreal engine and
Figma is preferred but not required.
Experience mentoring a team of designers, with a passion for coaching and
developing talents.
A strong portfolio of work demonstrating expertise in online game design,
including examples of successful features and experiences you have
designed and implemented.
A bachelor's or master's degree in game design, computer science, or a
related field is preferred but not required.
