Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is the independent AAA video game developer and publisher behind the free-to-play mobile game TECHNOCORE, the gamer-first blockchain GUNZ, and the upcoming next-gen battle royale Off The Grid, in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Kyiv, Ukraine; and London, UK.     The Lead Vegetation Artist will be entrusted with the power to sculpt entire worlds, ignite awe-inspiring artistry, pioneer production methodologies, and uphold budgets, all while relentlessly pursuing unparalleled excellence. We are seeking a leader who epitomizes empathy and clarity, driving the team towards boundless creativity and flawless execution.

    Reporting to the Art Director, the Lead Vegetation Artist is a practical artist, inspired not only by the games industry but also by film, nature, photography and natural composition.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deep understanding of modeling, texturing, composition, colour theory, vegetation and optimization – these should be shown in your portfolio through both shipped game projects and in personal work.
  • Experience with Vegetation generation pipelines - both using and implementing
  • Proven and clear understanding of PBR
  • Experience in writing documentation with clear explanations of processes, workflows and limitations
  • Proven experience in conducting managerial duties such as stand-ups, feedback and communication with peers.
  • Experience in working with Art Directors to develop direction and quality goals for your team and project.
  • Have experience with cross-discipline collaboration.
  • REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Biome or Vegetation artist, ideally as a Lead.
  • Experience of working on AAA games set in realistic Environments/Worlds
  • Ability to Assemble, Lead, and work within teams
  • Strong organizational skills (time management, planning, communication)
  • Possess a good knowledge of PBR workflow and shader techniques
  • Modelling experience focused on Vegetation generation
  • Photogrammetry experience - both in pipeline and implementation form
  • Optimization experience in Unreal Engine 5
