Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is a fresh, independent AAA developer working on its Battle Royale 2.0 Off The Grid in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Los Angeles, USA; and Kyiv, Ukraine.   • ABOUT THE JOB

    Gunzilla Games is looking to recruit a Lead Environment Artist to join us in helping to lead our Environment Art team to work on our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, due for release on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series XS and PC

    RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To work alongside current Lead, Art Directors and Art pipeline supervisor to Lead, motivate and inspire our team, to maintain and push the visual quality while delivering within the production needs.
  • Manage the Environment team, including setting objectives, and quality expectations and providing visual benchmarks
  • Coach, mentor and develop the team to ensure the personal growth of individuals as well as the whole team
  • Track and assign tasks in Jira and other project-tracking software.
  • Work to highlight and mitigate any issues that may cause bottlenecks
  • Work actively with designers and other departments to achieve the best look for the game.
  • Share knowledge and work on improving project tools and their functions.
  • REQUIREMENTS

    You should have:

  • Experience as a lead on at least one shipped AAA title
  • Experience in working with open-world type games.
  • Career experience which includes multiple AAA development cycles.
  • Excellent art foundational skills.
  • An eye for set design, environment composition, and photorealism.
  • A tech-minded approach, and a strong capacity to tweak and optimize content in all parts of the asset creation pipeline.
  • Experience in long planning and possible production problem-solving.
  • Fluency in game development processes and PBR asset creation workflows for the creation next next-generation games.
  • Passion for state-of-the-art production techniques and dedication to asset fidelity.
  • Strong knowledge of Substance / Quixel packages.
  • Fluent in industry-standard software for 3D art production.
  • Experience with modularity and procedure content generation in the context of environment art creation.
