Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is a fresh, independent AAA developer working on its Battle Royale 2.0 Off The Grid in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Los Angeles, USA; and Kyiv, Ukraine. Gunzilla's formidable team of talent comes from a variety of industry-leading studios and publishers (Ubisoft, Electronic Arts (EA), THQ etc) as well as Oscar-nominated screenwriter, director and producer Neill Blomkamp, Chief Visionary Officer, and the author of the Altered Carbon series, that has been adapted into a popular Netflix show, Richard K. Morgan, Script Writer.

  • Gunzilla Games are looking to recruit a Groom Artist to join us in creating realistic real-time haircuts and facial hairs for characters in our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third- person shooter, due for release on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series XS and PC

    As our Groom Artist you will:

  • Create realistic real-time hair from scratch using haircards pipeline that adheres to our game's overall look and vision using concept art and reference material.
  • Collaborate with the Lead character Artist and character artists to find the balance between realistic art and technical constraints.
  • Build and maintain a library of hairs.
  • Share your knowledge and best practices.

    You will have:

  • 3+ years' experience as a Groom Artist working on AAA titles, with at least 1 shipped AAA title.
  • A strong portfolio showing a good understanding of realistic haircards creation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of Xgen/Ornatrix, Maya, and Unreal Engine.
  • An ongoing interest in learning new tools and keeping up to date on the latest techniques and innovations.
  • Basic knowledge of general 3D pipelines and workflows in-game art production and limitations.
  • Strong communication skills and able to communicate with other teams.
  • Ability to organise and manage own work to meet deadlines, as well as able to advise on planning and milestones.
