SUMMARY
Gunzilla Games is looking for a Game Modes System Designer. The successful
candidate will help us to imagine and develop compelling and engaging rules
for our games. From conception to release and throughout post-launch, the Game
Modes System Designer develops high-quality game systems and mechanics that
are adapted to the intended audience and enable players to enjoy unique, fun,
and rich gaming experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Game Modes System Designer, you will:
Drive the quality, planning, pacing, and polish of game modes to ensure
that the player experience fulfills the vision of the game and fits within
the strategic overview of the product design
Work with other disciplines to ensure all goals are met, especially in the
3Cs (character, camera, control)
Use tracking and metrics to balance modes
Design one or several parts of the game's systems, controls, and
interfaces
Maintain clear design and technical documents using Confluence, JIRA, and
Microsoft Office tools alongside members of other disciplines
Collaborate on game systems from conception to release with the entire
development team
Support less-experienced game designers
REQUIREMENTS
Experience managing the quality, planning, pacing, and polish of a
mission/mode from conception to completion
Knowledge of systems that allow individuals to play together. This may
include campaign-style or open-world modes
Experience creating a smooth learning process for new players, including
distributing necessary game information in an efficient way to optimize
player onboarding
Experience with supplementary rewards given alongside regular gameplay
rewards that apply to a meta-game over which the player may only have
indirect input
