The Quest:
Work closely with all scrum teams/product owners to make sure each release
meets high-quality standards.
Become the Subject Matter Expert for the assigned project. Be the central
contact person for multiple assigned areas based on experience.
Contributes to test effort estimates based on experience, tools and
historical data.
Identify and provide solutions to optimize the current QA process and
ensure we provide quality and on time deliverables.
Actively collaborating with developers, designers, and business
stakeholders to clarify requirements, especially in terms of testability,
consistency and completeness.
Works alongside developers, artists, and designers to perform specific
tests.
Participate with the development team on estimations during backlog
refinement and proactively contribute during sprint planning, team
retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.
Define release/acceptance criteria for every QA verifiable deliverable.
Creates, updates and maintains test scripts, test cases, test scenarios,
project documentation and QA documents.
Leads the effort to document QA activities and maintain project
documentation.
Executes an assigned portion of the test plan/checklists (daily smoke
checklist, new feature checklist).
Perform daily smoke tests to ensure the stability of the build.
Executes various levels and types of testing such as smoke, sanity,
exploratory, functional, regression tests.
Communicates risks and dependencies to ensure that they have visibility
and are addressed.
Raise any issues blocking the QA process in a timely manner.
Constantly identifies high-quality bugs based on department standards and
performs accurate regression of existing bugs.
Review database issues to make sure the correct severity/priority was
assigned.
Manages bug entry to minimize invalid and duplicate issues
Publish/respond to issues, where required, while working closely with the
Product Owner.
Be the voice of quality for the product by providing qualitative or design
feedback from a player's perspective.
Use KPIs to improve the quality of the QA deliverables.
Offer training assistance if needed in onboarding new testers
Provides mentoring to team members as needed.
Understand the purpose of test automation and contribute to
automation/performance test strategies.
Takes ownership for own development and career management, seeking
opportunities to develop personal capabilities and improve performance.
The Skills:
3+ years of gaming/software testing experience.
Experience in working with Agile development teams.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated the ability to solve complex
problems.
Knowledge of game/software development framework, milestone requirements
and QA role/development team deliverables at each stage.
Experience with testing a game in various phases of its development, from
concept to liveops.
Experience with A/B testing methodologies.
Willingness to work in an agile environment and can share complex
technical information with different teams and partners, within or outside
of the quality assurance team.
Skills and the ability to come up with quick and creative solutions.
Ability to prioritize work tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and to think “outside of
the box”.
Understanding and proven experience with test case management.
Ability to create a project plan based on a development plan.
Performance and productivity-oriented to drive towards quality outcomes
and results.
Proactively initiate, develop and maintain effective working relationships
with team members.
Proficient with industry standard QA Tools (Jira, iTunes, ADB, etc.).
Capability to understand and learn/use new tools (Jenkins, Git,
Testflight, Appcenter, etc)
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Nice to have:
Basic understanding of a game engine (Unity, Unreal Engine)
